FIVE Interiors were commissioned by Stace on behalf of BDO to re-design the existing Fibonacci café at the Baker Street office. The concept was to create a multifunctional environment that utilised the space throughout the whole day enticing staff away from their desks and from the high-street café chains providing a space to eat, work, meet, socialise, communicate, collaborate and unwind, improving staff communication and overall wellbeing.

We focused the design around agile working, tailoring the scheme to create flexible environments that included informal meeting zones, acoustic booths, touch down benches along with the traditional cafeteria seating that was located within the closest proximity to the server area.

With over 180 covers and 1,800 staff acoustics played a key role in the design, ensuring that we created an environment that not only looked the part but functioned perfectly. This was achieved through the specification of acoustic panels, textured wall finishes, soft furnishing, carpeted areas and suspended acoustic fins by Autex all of which aid in dampening unwanted background noise whilst creating striking design features.
